Before You Start Your Weight Loss Journey - Know This...

Weight Loss

So...we all know that January is the time for resolutions! We resolve to be better, do better and live better every year! This may mean that we plan to take control of our finances, or it could mean that we take control of our health. For many, this means that we are going to shed those unwanted pounds that we have been dragging around but found so many excuses on why we just never got around to it. Gyms are packed with new clients this time of year. So are weight loss programs! But...have you ever wondered why by the end of the first few months of the year, many of those goals have not been realized... why you still have those pounds following you around even though you vowed, this would be the year that you rid yourself of that extra fat? Well...don't be too hard on yourself, weight loss is a journey! I certainly know it. I'm on this journey with you. Over the last 2 years running Healthy Solutions MD there are some things that I have learned that may help us all!

1. Appetite Suppressants are just a tool.

Those of you who look to appetite suppressants as "magic pill" are just fooling yourself. These pills just help you stick to the diet but it is the actual diet that enables you to lose the weight.

2. You have to like the food to want to stick to the plan.

Weight loss plans that require you to purchase pre-packaged food or meal replacements are great in the short run but for the plan to really be effective and able to provide you with a maintainable weight loss, you need to be eating real food and you need to learn how to turn this eating plan into a LIFESTYLE!

3. Many times, you think that you are hungry but your body is really THIRSTY.

Did you know that when we experience dehydration, we interpret it as being hungry? Try drinking more water. You should be drinking at least 1/2 your body weight in water.

4. Exercise is Key...after you drop a few pounds first.

Try starting your diet first. Once you've lost a few pounds, then start an exercise regiment. The loss of the first few pounds, maybe over the few weeks will certainly motivate you to start exercising.

5. Stress plays a HUGE role in whether or not you will be successful.

Don't underestimate the effects that stress has on our bodies. When you are stressed, it is almost impossible to lose weight. Don't set yourself up for certain failure when you try to start a diet program while dealing with a tremendous amount of stress. (The breakup of a marriage, loss of a loved one, loss of a job - these are NOT good times to start a diet.)

Weight loss is by far, one of the hardest things that you can attempt so you have to have the right mindset and the proper tools to accomplish this goal. Healthy Solutions MD can offer you the support and the tools that you need to FINALLY make this goal a reality. Weight loss is hard...let Healthy Solutions MD help make it easier!
